North Wales is at the heart of Pen Wiwar.
Although we celebrate Wales as a whole, our community started here in the north, surrounded by mountains, coastlines, national parks, nature reserves and local wildlife. These are the places that shaped the brand and continue to inspire our collections.
Each design is a small celebration of the landscapes around us. Whether it is a mountain range, a coastal view, a native species, or a memory of being outdoors in Wales, our aim is to create sustainable clothing that helps people feel closer to the places they love.
From Pride to Protection
We want Pen Wiwar to help people wear their love for Wales with pride.
When someone chooses one of our designs, we hope it gives them a stronger connection to the place behind it. That connection matters. The more people appreciate our landscapes, local biodiversity and culture, the more important it becomes to protect them.
For us, this is what environmental advocacy means: celebrating the natural world in a way that encourages care, respect and long-term appreciation.
Supporting Causes That Matter
As Pen Wiwar grows, we want to use the brand to support causes and initiatives that align with our values.
After our first full year of trading, we donated part of our profits to environmental causes and local charities that we feel deeply passionate about. This included Llanberis Mountain Rescue, the team that helps protect and save lives across the mountains around Eryri, and Tir Natur, the first rewilding project at scale in Wales.
While the way we support causes may change as the brand develops, our intention remains the same: to give back where we can and support projects that protect people, restore habitats, celebrate biodiversity, and help safeguard the landscapes that inspire our work.
A Community That Cares
Pen Wiwar is about more than clothing.
It is about building a community of people who feel proud of Wales, inspired by its landscapes, and connected to the nature and culture around them. Every design, collaboration and collection gives us another opportunity to share that message.
We know we are still a small brand, but we also believe small actions matter. Whether it is choosing better materials, printing locally, supporting Welsh artists, reducing waste, or giving back when we can, each decision helps shape the kind of brand we want Pen Wiwar to be.
Looking Ahead
As we continue to grow, we want environmental advocacy to remain part of the Pen Wiwar story.
We will keep looking for ways to support local initiatives, protect Welsh landscapes, celebrate biodiversity, and encourage our community to appreciate the places that inspire our designs.
Because the landscapes of Wales are more than part of our brand. They are the reason Pen Wiwar exists.
