Mynydd Mawr/ Elephant Mountain Tees

Located just outside the village of Caernarfon Mynydd Mawr—affectionately known as Elephant Mountain by locals—boasts a distinctive profile that resembles the shape of an elephant's head and trunk. The mountain, which rises to 721 meters, is a familiar sight to those exploring the area, offering not only a unique natural shape but also sweeping views over the surrounding valleys, lakes, and the iconic peaks of Eryri.

Our latest collection at Penwiwar is a celebration of Mynydd Mawr, brought to life in collaboration with a talented local artist Gwenno. We've carefully chosen vibrant colors for our designs that not only evoke the elephant-like silhouette of the mountain but also pay homage to the rich history of the area’s slate quarrying.
